Web Design

I started doing webdesign when I learned PHP in 2003. Since then I’ve learned to use web-technologies like: CSS, Javascript, XML, VRML, OWL-RDF(S), Flex and AJAX, but more importantly I’ve learned how to make a website look good. My designs tend to be minimalistic, yet elegant.

Below you’ll find a selection of the sites I’ve created over the years.
Welcome to my site,
Martijn Brakenhoff

DevoidOfStars v1.0 DevoidOfStars v1.0 (2008 – 2010)

The first version of this site that was ultimately abandoned in favour of more flexibility. The individualized nature of each page still appeals to me.

Autorijschool Hoogeboom is a driving-school from my town. In a world where the internet is ever more important this school felt they had to get it right.

De Kontekst De Kontekst (2005 – 2007)

De Kontekst is a company run by two psychologists.
I created this site together with Danielle de Man, Mathias Storm and Zinzi Speear for the course “Taskanalysis and Webdesign”.

I later did a retrofit when they wanted a few additions.

Talin.nl Talin.nl (2005)

Talin.nl is one of the predecesors of this site. It served the same functions, except that the photography has ben replaced by visual FX since those days.

Me@Vu Me @ Vu.nl (2004)

I attend the Vrije Universiteit (Free University). This is the site that is on my VU-webspace.
